17 DAYS SAFARI: THE GREAT SAFARI TO THE PARKS & RESERVES OF KENYA.

DAY 1: NAIROBI
Arrive Nairobi. Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya's cosmopolitan capital. Once little more than a watering hole for Masai tribes, today's Nairobi is the largest city between Cairo and Johannesburg.

If arrival is in the morning, then in the afternoon we drive to Karen Von Blixen's former home, now a museum. Continue to the Giraffe Center where you can feed and photograph giraffe from an elevated platform. Return to the hotel early this evening.
** Complimentary dinner at The Carnivore Restaurant. Nairobi has many restaurants offering a variety of exotic and African cuisine. However, none beats Carnivore for its uniqueness: It is for carnivorous. It is the only place you can get a variety of game Meat served in one meal. Its succulent steaks and barbecue dishes are recommended for every one especially as a welcome or a farewell Dinner/Lunch. Overnight at Panafric hotel or similar.

DAY 2: NAIROBI - MOUNT KENYA
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive north to Nyeri and the Outspan Hotel. After lunch, continue to your tree hotel for a nocturnal game viewing experience. Dinner and overnight at Treetops lodge.

DAY 3: MOUNT KENYA - SAMBURU
Drive north to Samburu where the climate is drier and the land is semi-desert. Spend the next two days exploring the Samburu Game Reserve. Keep your camera and binoculars ready, as the wildlife is plentiful. See the thin-striped Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, blue-necked Somali ostrich and Beisa Oryx, all species only found north of the equator. The long-necked gerenuk, a graceful antelope, spends most of its time here in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulent leaves. Later, relax at your camp on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River deep in the reserve. Accommodation is provided in luxuriously-appointed rooms set under thatch, with en-suite facilities and
private veranda. All meals and overnight at Samburu Serena lodge or similar.

DAY 4: FULL DAY SAMBURU
Full day spent viewing game inside the Samburu game reserve. All meals and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5: SAMBURU - LAKE BARINGO
After breakfast, game drive enroute to Lake Baringo. This is a fresh water lake in the Rift Valley, covering an area of 170 square kilometer, with a depth of 12 meters. KAMPI YA SAMAKI is the center of exploration in lake Baringo. This is a spectacular and mellow place to visit particularly with the Boating trips to the islands such as the 'Devil's island' and also with the bird walk, together with the various water sports available to tourists. All meals and overnight at Lake Baringo lodge.

DAY 6: LAKE BARINGO - LAKE BOGORIA
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Bogoria. This is a shallow lake found in the Rift Valley, covering an area of 30 square kilometer, with a depth of 9 meters and home to flamingos. Other attractions are the HOT SPRINGS and GEYSERS (with the Hot Springs boiling hot), gazelles, greater kudu, and impala. The sheer face of the north eastern ends of the Aberdares Ranges dominates the eastern side of the lake. All meals and overnight at Lake Bogoria hotel.

DAY 7: LAKE BOGORIA - LAKE NAKURU
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru national park for game drive. This is 200-sq. km shallow Soda Lake lying in the volcanic strewn Rift Valley and is one of a chain of lakes stretching the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. It is world's greatest bird spectacle with millions of pink flamingos and pelicans, birds of prey like vulture, eagle and such animals as waterbuck and black rhino, buffalo, Reedbuck, gazelle, leopard, hyrax, hippos, velvet-monkey, Rothschild giraffe and baboon. This is an ideal place for ornithologists and photographers. All meals and overnight at Lake Nakuru lodge or similar.

DAY 8: LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA
Leave early today, climbing out of the Rift Valley escarpment, to enter the Masai Mara Reserve, part of the Serengeti ecosystem. After lunch, be ready to experience some of the best game viewing in Kenya's most exciting game reserve. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge or similar.

DAY 9: MASAI MARA
Morning and afternoon game drives should reveal lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, topi, hartebeest, cheetah, gazelle, wart hog, and abundant bird life. All meals and overnight at Sopa lodge or similar

DAY 10: MASAI MARA
A morning Game drive to this vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem are home to over 3million large mammals. In our game drive we have a very good chance of seeing all the major Plains animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, hyena, cheetah, jackal, warthog and many species. Visit a Masai village this afternoon to learn their ancient ways of the Masai people who are allowed to graze animals and to hunt within the reserve boundaries. All meals and overnight at Sopa lodge or similar

DAY 11: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI
After breakfast, leave lodge for the last game drive and return journey to Nairobi. Picnic lunch enroute and arrive Nairobi in the afternoon or early evening. Overnight at Panafric hotel or similar.

DAY 12: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI
Depart at 09.00 hrs and drive south through vast Maasai country, Via Namanga Border town then on to Amboseli National Park. Picnic Lunch is served enroute. Arrive in the camp late afternoon and settle down. Time permitting, proceed for a short game drive to see Rhino, Giraffe, Lion, Elephant and many more with Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest peak) providing a beautiful background. Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli lodge or similar.

DAY 13: AMBOSELI - TSAVO WEST
Pre-breakfast game drive from 06.00hrs to 08.00hrs. after breakfast, depart to Tsavo West national park with game drive enroute to the lodge. Afternoon game drive from 16.00hrs to 18.00hrs when you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. All meals and overnight at the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge or similar.

DAY 14: TSAVO - MOMBASA
Breakfast at the lodge then drive to Mombasa.
The City of Mombasa provides an interesting experience with the old Portuguese Fort Jesus, Old Town, Markets and Shops. An extensive variety of excursions are available to sample the local culture and the famous Kenyan wildlife. Check into Leisure Lodge Beach and Golf Resort for overnight. All meals at the hotel.

DAY 15: MOMBASA
Full day own leisure at the hotel. All meals and overnight.

DAY 16: MOMBASA - NAIROBI / AIRPORT
Breakfast at the hotel then transfer to the airport for flight back to Nairobi. You will then check in for your international flight back home.
